Story: Shingo has the luck of getting Koda Kumi to guestspot on his solo song and while she comes to discuss the song and concept, she seems to taken back by Tsuyoshi's work ethics and finds a similar soul within the group of SMAP.
'It must be done with all your love and all your heart." Takuya said
over a book his reading to Shingo who was sitting around with a
notebook.
"Love? Heart? Geez Takuya, it's just my solo song." Shingo looked away bored and considered ripping out the few pages he did write out on his faded orange notebook. "Besides, it's not like I'm going to write it, I just gotta come up with the concept and take it to the higher up's and they look it over and it goes from there."
Takuya frowned and in walked in Tsuyoshi Kusanagi who looked thrilled, "The higher up's agreed to a remake this year for me!" He wrote a yellow shirt and a pair of simple blue jeans, he looked over at Takuya and seemed to read his mind and put up his hand, "I know what your thinking, taking the easy way out! But we're putting a whole new spin on the remake, something fresh."
"Does it have any korean?" Takuya asked.
"Um.. No, not really." Tsuyoshi scanned his lyrics seat.
"Good." and Takuya left the studio for the evening.

Tsuyoshi had spent the last hour with Shingo throwing out ideas for his solo. Tsuyoshi fancied the idea of teaming up with Shingo again, like they did back in the MIJ tour, but Shingo teased him and said it was just a easy way for Tsuyoshi to get more korean on the record. Needless to say, Shingo turned the idea down flat. Tsuyoshi left the room and headed down to the first floor to the vending machine to buy a pair of drinks. Back upstairs Shingo got a phone call from their manager.Their manager was a tough lady who fought for her boys and held them with high standards. She was tight with the planning of the album and wanted the solo songs done by this weekend. She called Shingo to tell him Nakai had contacted an upcoming female talent to duet on his solo song and that he would meet Nakai in the morning to accompany him to the talent's agency. Shingo winced, he wanted to finsh the song details and spend the weekend with his lady friend.
Tsuyoshi came back in the room with a couple of drinks, he handed one can to Shingo and asked who had called. Shingo explained that Nakai was going to be dueting with a female this year and Tsuyoshi couldn't hide his surprise. "No crossdressing this year? Think he can handle being on the same stage with a female singer?" Tsuyoshi asked an empty question and the pair silently thought of Nakai struggling to keep a straight face on stage. "Well that settles it!" Tsuyoshi slammed his soft drink down on the table, "You should have a female singer as well?"
Shingo looked bored, "And just who do you think I should get?"
Tsuyoshi looked back at Shingo with dancing eyes, "I don't know, how about Koda Kumi?"

In the morning Shingo went to meet Nakai at recording studio, from there the pair was to take a taxi to the talent's agency and from there, Nakai would network and basically work it to get the talent to agree. Only issue was that Nakai was over an hour late and Shingo still wanted to make that weekend trip to his girlfriends. Shingo pulled out his cellphone and called Nakai but he had his cellphone turned off and it only went straight to his voice message which was a recording Nakai did of a giants game he saw on TV. Nakai was playing with the audio recording feature on his phone and recorded his greeting to a giants tv sports voice-over. Shingo looked down to this feet, this was going to be a long day.
Walking around the building and waving to the weekend staff, Shingo sliently cursed Nakai and how he held up his plans.
"Hey! HEY! HEEEEEEEEEEEEEY!!" Nakai was waving Shingo to the front door, he was holding some shopping bags and was sporting this bright red baseball cap. "Shingo, what are you doing here? I thought we were going to meet downtown?"
Shingo marched up to Nakai and wanted to slap him, "Downtown? I was told her!"
Nakai handed Shingo the shopping bags to hold and smiled and pulled out his cellphone, "Well, when I was downtown, I didn't see you and went ahead with my meeting and got her higher up's to agree! Isn't that awesome, me singing with a lady!" Nakai looked up and just glowed, without letting Shingo speak he turned to Shingo, but not looking at him said, "Do you mind taking my bags back to my place? You have a key right?" Nakai was busy with his cellphone and dialing some numbers, "We and her are going to meet up! Might make a weekend out of it!" Nakai marched out the door, laughing into the phone. Shingo looked like he wanted to die.
"B-but your place is 30 minutes out of the way..." Shingo looked to the floor and dragged the shopping bags out the door and hailed a cab.

It was late saturday and Shingo was over at Tsuyoshi's small flat. Tsuyoshi had made the pair dinner, one of his favorite korean dishes and the two spoke of the solo songs.
"I'm going to be wearing this marching outfit, kinda like you would if you were in a band!" Tsuyoshi spoke with a mouthfull.
"Is it going to be black? Like a black parade?" Shingo asked.
Tsuyoshi waved his hand and shot him down, "Black parade? This is a happy song! I want it to be bright, with lots of red and maybe some lights!"
"Lights?" Shingo choked.
"Yeah, maybe get some lights to light up on the actual outfit! Kinda like a christmas tree!" Tsuyoshi smiled.
Shingo drank his tea and reconsider spending the night.
After dinner and cleaning up, Tsuyoshi bought up Koda Kumi again. "I think it would be cool to have a female talent. I know Goro's going to have some female backing vocals."
"Yeah, but why her? She isn't known for her singing." Shingo unzipped his overnight bag and pulled out his night clothes.
"I think she's a good choice, she's really popular and she'll bring in a whole new audience." Tsuyoshi went to turn on the TV. On the TV was a Koda Kumi PV playing, she was in a bar and playing with one of the bottles. Tsuyoshi blushed.
"I think you got other things on your mind..." Shingo looked and swore he saw Tsuyoshi's face grow red.
"Just go to sleep, we'll talk in the morning." Tsuyoshi threw Shingo the remote and left to his bedroom.

In the morning, Shingo woke up first and cleaned up the living room and then sat back on the sofa to watch some more TV. Dozens of commericals passed with his fellow bandmate hawking drinks, camera's and phones. "Jesus, sometimes enough is ENOUGH!" Shingo winced as he saw his bandmates long hair on almost every channel and not getting anything any different, he turned it off and went to make some breakfast. He made some eggs and burned some toast and spilled the coffee all over the kitchen floor. "Great.." Shingo bent down with his napkin to pick up the mess. In the living room, Tsuyoshi went to turn on the TV and flipped it to the news channel. The news bit was discussing SMAP's latest album and how Koda Kumi would be making a guest apperance.
Both Tsuyoshi and Shingo stopped with what they were doing. "What the hell..." Tsuyoshi trained off, "I swear, I think this place is bugged."
Shingo nodded and said to no one really, "I guess we better get her on board."
That afternoon, the pair threw back more ideas and informed the agency to get incontact with her people to set up a meeting.
==============
It was a week later and Shingo was nervous, "I think you should come with me!" He pleaded with Tsuyoshi to come with him to the meeting of her people.
"I'm already here, aren't I?" Tsuyoshi looked bored, meeting with another's talent's agency was left to the management crew, but they had insisted that Shingo come personally.
Shingo was fumbling with his cellphone and his backpack and his notebook all at once and out dropped a few loose papers, Shingo was busy trying to turn off his phone, he didn't notice his papers flying out the front door, due to a light breeze and Tsuyoshi rushed to pick them up, he bent down to pick them up and noticed a pair of large black boots stepping on one of the papers, Tsuyoshi mused, "Just who the hell wears steel toe boots these days?" He looked up and saw Koda Kumi herself looking down at him, he froze and forgot all about the papers.
Koda Kumi picked up the papers and went to hand them to Tsuyoshi who just stared, he was totally caught off guard and glad he went with Shingo to the meeting; He turned to look at Shingo who was still busy with his cellphone.
"Katori-san? Is that you?" He went to hand Shingo the papers, Shingo was just as shocked and mumbled something about his cellphone not working, Koda Kumi smiled and said something to Shingo about getting better hired help. Shingo looked back at Tsuyoshi and laughed, "Good help is so hard to find these days!" and with that, the pair went inside to, leaving Tsuyoshi to follow.
Inside the elevator the trio were quiet and it was awkward. Koda Kumi was looking back at Tsuyoshi and Shingo and watched how the pair kept their eyes down on her black boots.
"I think you wear a bigger size than me." Tsuyoshi said
Koda Kumi frowned, "I wear them to kick men like you back in your place." She went and did a fake kick and glared at Tsuyoshi, "Really Shingo, your hired help sucks."
Shingo laughed and the elevator doors flung open.

Serving tea to Koda and Shingo, Tsuyoshi fumed, he wasn't hired help and it pissed off that Shingo went along with her joke. Was it a joke? Wasn't she aware that he was a part of SMAP? Tsuyoshi watched the pair sitting at the main table and saw Koda Kumi look up from time to and time and point to him and ask Shingo questions. Tsuyoshi would watch Shingo talk back to her with a laugh and then the pair would go back to writing. After a while, Shingo's phone rang and Shingo looked at the caller ID and excused himself to leave the room. With only Kumi and Tsuyoshi in the room, the pair looked at everything in the room but each other.
After five minutes and realizing Shingo wasn't going to be back anytime soon, Koda Kumi went and greeted Tsuyoshi, "Your tea's all flat and not very sweet." She poured her tea into the sink and went through the cupboard to search for more sugar. Tsuyoshi watched Kumi looking but didn't want to tell her the sugar was under the sink in a small blue box. Kumi barked for Tsuyoshi to bring her a chair so she can look through the cupboard's upper shelves and Tsuyoshi pulled her a chair. She climbed up and searched, it was then Tsuyoshi noticed just how little of a dress she was wearing.
He stared and enjoyed the show.
The TV was running on the music channel and there was a countdown of the latest hits and it finally hit the number one spot and it was SMAP's latest single 'Arigatou' and Tsuyoshi looked over his shoulder to look and Kumi came down from the chair and watched and kinda looked back at the TV to Tsuyoshi and back again. The video was played and nothing much was said.
Shingo slammed open the door and rushed in, "Listen, I gotta cut this meeting short, I can get back to you in the morning, right, Kuu?" Shingo didn't wait for an answer and was out the door, leaving Tsuyoshi and Kumi in the room.
"Y-your one of them?" Koda Kumi pointed at Tsuyoshi and back at the TV.
"Do you always talk to people like that?" Tsuyoshi smirked.
"Your tea really sucked." Koda Kumi laughed and smiled, she held out her hand, "I thought you were some korean help. I mean you look like a halfer. I had some hired help break into my home while I was touring recently and, so I'm kinda resentful at the moment." Tsuyoshi took her shaked it and grinned, "Don't worry, I get it all the time, I'm not as flashy as Kimura, I'm rather easy to overlook."
Koda Kumi punched his shoulder, "Oh no, now that I've got a good look at you, I'm liking what I see."
Tsuyoshi fell slient and didn't know what to say.
"Now, how about I take you out for some real tea?" Koda Kumi pulled out her phone and called for her driver to pick them up.
