Title: Fade away

Notes: Don't own SMAP or Shizuka Kudo. This a SMAP fanfic that deals with some dark issues. This isn't for the faint of heart at all.
Summary: Takuya snaps . Goro's in the middle of it all and Shizuka Kudo finally gets what's coming to her.

"Why don't we go outside," she whispered, "Lots of people are staring at us." Shizuka Kudo pulled her husband by the arm, the pair were in Nagano for the weekend to do some shopping. While from the stares they got inside their hotel lobby, it seems everyone, including themselves felt they were out of place. Outside the hotel, the car was waiting for them with the valet holding their car key's out to them. Shizuka took the keys and Takuya slipped the man some money for this troubles.

Inside the car, Takuya turned on the radio and searched for a cigarette."So how do you intend to explain to the press just what we're doing." Shizuka paid attention the lights and didn't say much for a minute, but reached out for Takuya's cigarette, which he handed to her with no effort. "I just do what I always do, say nothing to the press. If you want to talk to them, than talk." She blew out her smoke while she said this and then flipped the cigarette out the window, "We really have to stop this horrible habit, don't we?"

Takuya squeezed Shizuka's hand and with his other, he pulled out another cigarette.

"Shizuka, look this way!" a cameraman was shouting at Shizuka, who just got out of the car, she kept her head down and went to the trunk of the car and pulled out her purse. The a pair of cameramen were talking to Takuya, asking him questions about his girls, but Takuya kept on smoking and just wave a flirty wink and smile. Shizuka wore her heels and slipped; She caught herself, thanks to the car but her purse flew out of her hands and some item spilled out on the pavement.

Takuya didn't seem to notice, but was caught off guard by a cameraman who was recalling events of the Kimura family in Hawaii and how Shizuka wore this gold bathingsuit and how she got all sunburned in the face, Takuya laughed but then noticed his wife on the floor, he dropped his smoke and went to help her. The cameramen were snapping pictures of the pair on the pavement. Shizuka was flushed and was stuffing back items in her purse, she jumped up and pulled Takuya with her and the pair went dashing into the store. The cameraman shouted to the pair, "Just why does your wife have a picture of ...." Takuya turned around to face the cameraman with a photo in his hand, he was waving it and Takuya couldn't get a clear look. Shizuka must have heard, because she skipped a step and almost slipped again, she cursed her heels under her breath and slammed the door shut.

"He was talking about some photo."

Shizuka covered her face with her hands, "I told you, it's nothing. Probably a picture of my parents."  The pair were in a small cafe in the shopping center, Takuya had by his sides at least five shopping bags filled with items for himself. Usually Shizuka was the one picking items left and right for herself and the girls, but Takuya noticed she seemed subdued when they got there and had no interest in the sales. Everything in the bags was his and he made a sidenote, to go to a toystore and pick up something for the girls before they got home.

"So would you want to catch a movie tonight? We haven't done that in a while."

Shizuka glanced around the cafe and watched the waitress on the phone, she saw the woman saying words a mile and minute but it was all hushed, Shizuka assumed she was calling a friend who might have been a fan of Takuya. There was the cook who stood on the sidelines watch the pair who had finshed their meal. Shizuka contiuned to glance around and noticed someone taking an order to go and frozed. Shizuka was almost caught off guard and she straighed up and ran a hand through her hair, Takuya noticed a change in her and turned around to look at how she was looking at.

"G-Goro-chan, over here." Takuya waved over his fellow bandmate and looked slighty embarrassed. Goro wasn't wearing his usually fancy garb and infact hadn't had his hair styled at all, it was all loose and curly. Takuya stood and grabbed a handful of Goro's hair and pointed to Goro and Shizuka, "Look, he didn't do his hair. We totally caught him off guard." Goro pulled away and smiled at the two, "I wanted to try something new." He said with pride, "Maybe I should leave it the way it it, someone out there would like it." Takuya sat back down and motion for Goro to sit in the empty chair next to Shizuka and laughed, "Not even your Mom likes your curly hair, Goro-chan!" Goro winced and while sitting next to Shizuka, she patted him on the shoulder, "I think it's rather nice and cute. I always thought men should have curly hair, not women." Shizuka pulled a curl away from Goro's eyes and something inside Takuya snapped.

Goro brought a hand to the back of his head and laughed a weak laugh and pulled away, "Kudo-san....." Goro still addressed Shizuka as if they were young and back when they knew each other only from being in the same circle of management. Shizuka lightly shook her head, "Goro-chan, your always so kind." Takuya looked at the pair and barked, "It isn't Kudo-san, remember? She's married to me." Takuya pointed to the front desk, "I think your order's ready?" Goro stood up and walked away with his head down. Shizuka looked at Takuya, "What was that about? Why are you always so harsh with you, you should treat him the same as you do the other's." Takuya snorted and watched Goro pay, expecting Goro to leave, he saw Goro turn around and waved goodbye. Takuya nodded.

"Goro-chan!" Shizuka called from across the cafe, "How about going to a movie with us tonight!"

At the movies, Shizuka sat in the middle and Takuya fumed. "I still think Goro should sit next to me." Takuya sat foward and looked at Goro who was already eatting the popcorn. Shizuka pulled off her jacket and handed it to Takuya, "Will you stop? It's bizarre to have two men sitting together and leave the woman sitting by herself." Goro still ate his popcorn and Takuya slapped Shizuka's jacket on the empty seat next to him, "Well then would you tell him to share the popcorn? It'd be all gone before the movie starts." Takuya folded his arms around his chest and watched out of the corner of his eye as Shizuka tried to feed him a piece of Popcorn, Takuya nodded his head, "Don't want any." Shizuka rolled his eyes and then turned and fed Goro the same piece of popcorn. Takuya shut his eyes and stopped caring about the movie.

Midway through the flim, Shizuka squeezed Takuya's hand, it was all warm and slick from the popcorn butter.

After the flim, Takuya went ahead to the car and watched Shizuka give Goro her cellphone to call a taxi. Out of slight and inside his car, Takuya fumed and played with the radio buttons and searched for something to listen to, he dropped his wallet and went to pick it up from the floor, the car was small and he hit the window wipers switch with his arm and saw the wipers running at fold speed against his windshield, but he noticed a photo being pulled back and forth from the windshield and opened the car door and snatched it from the wipers. He looked at the photo and Takuya felt something. He felt tears.

Takuya was startled by the knock on the window, it was Shizuka and Goro, Shizuka was smiling and Goro was red in the face. Takuya flipped the switch to unlock the doors and Shizuka quickly sat in the car, "You have my jacket, it's freezing!" Goro got in and slammed the door shut, "Think you can drop me off at my house?" Takuya said nothing and started the car and pulled out of the theater parking lot with ease. Shizuka gave Goro a thumbs up, thinking nothing was wrong.

Goro's home was totally out of the way and took at extra 15 minute trip uphill. Goro leaved in a small but swanky apartment in a famous area of Nagano. Just down the street his neighbors were all famous talent, the most famous was the summer home of Namie Amuro, whom Goro bragged that one summer she was locked out of her house and came to his to ask to use his phone. Goro got out of the car and waved goodbye to the pair, he went running up his stairs and waved again to the pair who still sat in the car, Shizuka looked and gave a warm smile and waved goodbye and Goro went inside and turned out his porch light. Takuya and Shizuka were in the car and Shizuka said it was getting late that if he was tired she could drive home.

Without words, Takuya slapped Shizuka in the face, it caught her off guard and she banged herself again the passenger window, she held her face and looked at him shocked, her eyes wide. She had no words and then he slapped her again.

"Shizuka, Shizuka, Shizuka, Shizuka..." Takuya wailed and cried.

Shizuka held her face with one hand and with the other she tried to open her door but it was locked, she flipped the lock switch and Takuya heard the click and grabbed a hold of her shoulders and pulled her close to him, "And just where are you going? He can't help you! He's the reason this is happening."

Shizuka grew still and Takuya shaked her with ease, she looked like a dolll her with her head swinging foward and back, her hair loose and wild, Takuya grabbed her by the neck and wailed, "How long as this been going on? I let it go once, but again?" Takuya cried and Shizuka felt her tears running across her face, she looked puzzled. Takuya saw that look and saw her eyebrows doing her trademark worried look, "Don't tell me you FEEL guilty." He slapped her again, and Shizuka pulled the brake off and the car slid down and smashed into Goro's park car. Hearing the noise, Goro switched on the porch light and came out. Takuya went to start the car and leave the scene, but Shizuka wrestled the keys out of his hand and threw them in the back seat, Goro saw the pair and flung the door open and pulled Shizuka out. While pulling her out, her legs were wild, with her heels on she kicked Takuya as many times as she could. Goro helped stand her up and looked at her and then at Takuya who was still sitting the car, his arm bleeding from her heels.

"Call the police." Shizuka said out of breath, her face now dark red, the bruises were starting to appear.

Goro was at lost of what to do, he held Shizuka and then pulled her behind him and told her to just go in the house and wait for him. Shizuka agreed and ran up the steps, one of her heels her broken.

"Hitting your wife isn't a joke." Goro shouted at Takuya who finally got out of the car. Takuya stood on the driver's side and rested his arms on the car roof. He stared at Goro with such intensity that it almost hurt, Takuya spat out, "Sleeping with my wife isn't a joke!" Goro took the remark with almost no shame, "Is that what this is about?" Takuya wanted to laugh, but if he laughed he knew he would start crying and he would be damned if Goro saw him crying. "I'm not talking about the first, you stupid bastard! I'm talking about now!"  Goro froze and didn't say anything, he almost wished Shizuka did call the cops, he wished the cops were here and how they would just haul Takuya any for spouse abuse.

Goro started to cry.

Takuya saw Goro cry, and marched over to him and shoved him against the car, "Don't you cry, you bastard, don't you dare cry! I should be the one crying!" Goro hid his face with his hands and sobbed, they were caught. Takuya pulled out the photo and pulled Goro's arms apart and put it in front of his face, "You stupid fuck, I saw it this morning, she slipped and these items came out of her purse, you know the cameramen are good to us because we give them what they want. I guess they thought they were doing me a favor." Goro looked over the photo, the photo was a picture of the pavement, Shizuka was the on the floor, he could see her purse on the floor and the items on the pavement, put him to shame, it was photo's at least four, of Shizuka and Goro, one of them in the car, another clearly of them topless, and besides the photo's, even more shame, condom's. Everyone knew Takuya didn't use them, otherwise he wouldn't have married, it was a joke that everyone was in on and for her to carry condom's ment she was intimate with someone else. It was her idea really to take the topless photo's, on the weekdays when Takuya was doing his filming the pair would sneak off to her parents home and would carry on their secret relationship. It went on for six months and she had been the one to start it, but Goro was the one to accept the temptation. He never thought she would be so careless to carry these things with her.

"How long?" Takuya spat out, he held Goro's shoulder and stared.

"I don't know. Six months? I didn't mean too..." Goro was cut off by Takuya who punched him in the gut.

"I thought you would have stopped the first time?" Takuya watched Goro choke back his pain. Long before Takuya really got to know Shizuka, while he was knee deep into his relationship with Kaorin, Goro was single and met Shizuka during a radio interview, he knew her from the same circles but this time he really got to know her and who she really was behind the idol mask. He loved her positive outlook and how hardworking she was and wanted to date her but knew she was out of his league, so he was shocked when she called him up and asked him to visit her at her parents home, for three months the pair dated, it was totally in secret but they almost spend either every day with each other, and if they couldn't get together because of their work schedule, they would talk on the phone for hours. Two weeks in, Goro slept with Shizuka and bragged about it to the other SMAP members who were just floored at such a woman would show any interest in Goro, Takuya then slapped Goro and said he shouldn't sleep with her because if she were to get pregnant, SMAP would be all over and Goro agreed to not do it again. It sounds all so silly, but Goro really looked up to Takuya and wanted nothing more than to please him, so fast foward two years's later and to find out Takuya and Shizuka were going to have a shot gun wedding? Needless to say, from that day on, it took some of the loyalty that Goro had for Takuya away.

Takuya and Goro stood close to each other, still up against the car. Goro saw Shizuka watching from the window.

"I can leave her. We can walk away from all this."

"Y-you can't.. What about the girls?" Goro froze, he never thought in a million years that Takuya would choose him over Shizuka, well not really him, but SMAP and his career over his wife.

"She didn't call the police, did she?" Takuya gave a smile. Goro contiuned to look at Shizuka, "Goro, look this way, look at me." Takuya barked, "Let's think abou this." Goro looked at Takuya and the pair were quiet for a moment.

"If she calls the police and says you hit her, it'd be all over the news, and the courts wouldn't give the girls to you, it'd all go to her." Goro whispered, ".. Why did you hit her? I can see it on her face."

Takuya laughed, "I should have controlled myself, but just seeing that look on her face, it's when I finally she realized she's been playing us all."

It was slient and Takuya finally spoke, "I wish she would just fade away."

Goro was shocked, " We can't use very well get rid of her?"

Takuya went to the truck of his car and pulled out a baseball bat that was left from his daughter's pratice, "We have been together for almost over 20 year's. We lose it all because of one woman."

Goro felt faint, but knew he was going to be loyal to Takuya to the end, and if this was his choice, he would go along with it, "I understand, I'm with you."

"I trust you." Takuya smiled, his smile was large and wide and he looked alive again.

"I'll go in first." Goro rushed in the stairs inside his house, seeing the baseball bat, Shizuka pulled away from the window and fumbled for a night and searched for a phone that was only kept upstairs.

Author Notes: Holy hell. What a way to start off 2007. I don't own SMAP or Shizuka Kudo. This is easily one of the darkness things I have ever written. While I love Shizuka and Takuya together, I can't just seem to write a nice fluffy romantic piece of the pair! I just can't! I believe their marriage isn't all perfect and it takes all kinds of work to MAKE it work, but I don't believe that any of what I've written would occur. I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. Summary: Shingo wants to throw a party and during the planning he realizes he has no real friends at all.
Notes: This is title is part of a series called ' Decemberunderground' a short set of around 15-18 fanfiction short stories/drabbles that really vary with length where you take an album you've listen to from start to end and with each song/title your work your short piece around that. I have chosen the album 'Decemberunderground' from AFI, and while all of these stories can be read at random, all stories will lead up to an ending where all with be worked in together. Shingo Katori was planning on throwing this huge party at his parents house but it was a no-go. His parents said he was too young and they didn't like his friends anyway. Shingo was only 13 and he didn't have many friends, only these five other guys that he worked with. He was working hard to make his band work and his parents said that his bandmates weren't really his friends.

Shingo pouted, "They are my friends!"

His Father sneered, "Seems like they only want you when it's time to work."

Shingo looked away, "Kimura-kun and I are really close, infact, he said if you won't let me have the party here, I can have it at his house!"

His Father said nothing, knowning all to well, Kimura would refused.

"Are you insane?" Kimura screamed at Shingo, "And just who would you invite anyway?"

Shingo looked at his feet and tried to keep his voice from cracking, "Well I figure you and the guys could come."

"Blah, we're together enough as it is.. Listen, forget about parties and do some of your school work. The old guy says if you keep getting getting low marks, he's just going to rotate you and maybe get someone else for the band."

"And just who could they get to take my place?" Shingo yelled getting to close to Kimura.

"Lots.I hear that Mabo guy over at Tokio wants to take a chance, always going on about how he's pretty good on rollerskates." Kimura started to lead Shingo out the entry way of his apartment.

"But, b-ut.." Shingo said as he walked out the door, "You don't get it, it's not just any party - "

"Kid, go ask Nakai, he's out a bigger place anyway."

Shingo went to Nakai's house.

He didn't even answer the door.

Nakai merely looked out the window, saw Shingo and went back to his business.

"YOUR HOME! OPEN UP! THIS ISN'T FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!" Shingo banged on the door.

He wanted to cry. He wasted a whole day and it was his only day off for a while. He had classes to attend to tomorrow morning and a meeting with the old guy after classes. Shingo glazed out. He hated the neighborhood Nakai lived in anyway.

Shingo was back at home, reading some comics he his mother shouted for him to get a phone, he rushed down stairs to get the phone from his Mother and he was a little nervous. Being on the phone made him nervous, "Hello?" Shingo said. There wasn't an answer. But he did hear some static.

"Hey? Hey, you there?" It was Goro.

"GORO-CHAN!"

"Hey, it's sempai to YOU."

"Goro-chan, I think this is the first time you ever called my house!"

"It's SEMPAI, dammit!"

"So, what's up? Hey - listen, I wanted to do this party."

"Yeah, the party. Listen I already heard about it. It's going to happen, tomorrow. After classes, just come to my house."

"FOR REAL? WOW! And everyone knows!"

"Sure, everyone. Just get here as soon as possible."

After classes, Shingo dashed home, he was home before his Mother came back from her usual gossip-filled errands and he changed out of his school uniform and dressed in jeans and t-shirt and he wore a bright red baseball cap. He looked really happy to go to this party, he never knew Goro would take the time to make it all work out. He took the train line he took to Goro's house and in little than 30 minutes he arrived in Goro's neighborhood and soon came to his doorstep. The door was wide open and he could hear music playing. Shingo peered into the loft and called out for Goro but there was no answer.

He wanted a few minutes and played his his baseball cap. He thought maybe he was too early and considered taking a walk around the block to pass some time.

Shingo then heard some paper being ripped up, he called out to Goro who shouted back at him, "Shingo? Is that you, get in here!"

Shingo slipped off his shoes and dashed across the fancy marble floor Goro had installed around his place.

Shingo couldn't believe his eyes, PRESENTS! At least a dozen!

"You knew?" Shingo cried out, he ran to gifts and looked at them, on the dinner table they looked larger than life. What could be in them? No way could it be clothes! Shingo eyed the gifts and then Goro would looked painfully shy.

"Where's everyone else?" Shingo looked around

"You should have kept the uniform on.." Goro mumbled to himself and came close to Shingo, "Well, there isn't anyone else? You wanted a party right?"

Shingo nodded, "YES! And it's a BIRTHDAY PARTY!"

Goro nodded and held Shingo close, "Yes, yes. A birthday party. What is now, 15?"

Shingo playfully pushed Goro away, "NO! I'm 14 now! And look getting taller!" Shingo was the same height as Goro.

"How nice." Goro said and took off Shingo's hat.

Shingo watched Goro throw his hat across the room on the sofa. Goro smiled. "I bought you nice things. The kinda things he bought me."

"Who? Johnny?" Shingo felt really uncomfortable.

"Yes, when I turned 15, he gave me something special." Goro took off his jacket and pointed to the gifts, "Shingo-chan. Open them. See the things I bought for you."

Shingo really wanted the gifts but didn't really like Goro's smile.

Goro left to close the front door while Shingo started on the gifts.

It was everything he wanted, new rollerskates in navy blue. A really cool sweatshirt that matched the one Kimura wore constantly at the gym and a handful of comics. He felt really happy.

"These are awesome. Are these things Johnny-san gave you as well?" Shingo smiled as he sat on the floor, Goro sat close on his knees, Goro only watched Shingo for a few moments before he answered.

"We gave each other something. He said it was special, something I could only give to one person and one person only."

Shingo was busy with the sweatshirt, he had his half way over his head and laughed, "It's stuck, Goro-chan! TOO SMALL!"

With Shingo not looking, Goro came close to Shingo and held him by the waist, causing Shingo to lie back and laugh as he tired to take the sweater off all together, "Goro-chan, your too close!"

"Sure close. Let me get closer." Goro said as he lifted Shingo's shirt up a bit and saw the plush of his stomach. Shingo had his sweater off and his arms above his head only looking at Goro with no words.

"Your healthy." Goro muttered as he lied on top of Shingo. Now face to face, Goro smiled softly at Shingo and Shingo was racing to catch his breathe.

"This isn't good. Kimura said these things were bad."

"What things?" Goro screamed as he held both of Shingo's wrist.

"These things, the things you do with Johnny-san."

"What does Kimura know? What does he tell you?"

Shingo started to cry. His eyes were red. He couldn't catch his breathe. Goro started to unzip his pants, he pulled Shingo's shirt up and asked Shingo to take it off. Shingo took it off, his face flushed, he only stared at the ceiling as Goro kissed him all over. Soon Shingo realized his pants and underwear were off and Goro slipped them in his mouth.

Shingo stared at the ceiling and thought of his Mom and Dad. Maybe they were right. Friends don't do these things to each other.

Now on his stomach. Shingo felt lifeless. His body moved with Goro's as Goro took him from behind. He couldn't cry anymore.

Goro started to sing him Happy Birthday.

Shingo merely looked at the gifts scattered on the floor.
